This homemade dutch apple pie is easier to make than a classic. This was by the best apple crumble I ever had. My pie didn't out like a pie, more like a cobbler. But we're not mad about it.
Instructions to make Apple Crumble Pie:
Fit pie pastry in 9 inch pie pan and refrigerate while preparing filling and topping
Place apple slices, lemon juice and sugar in a bowl and toss to coat
Heat butter in a large skillet, add apples with all juices in bowl and cook on medium heat, stirring often until apples are tender but still holding their shape
Add cinnamon, flour and salt and stir just until blended, less than 1 minute
Transfer apples to abowl and chill until cold. This can be done up to two days before baking the pie.

In abowl combine flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, toffee bits and spices. Mix to blend
Add melted butter and stir with a fork to make crumbs

Preheat the oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with foil

Evenly top with Crumb Topping, place on foil lined pan and bake 30 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbling. Cool on rack

I can't figure out why it did though. It didn't hold the shape as a pie should. Crumble-topped apple pies used to be my absolute favorite type of pie.
